Developing an ophthalmic nurse led telephone triage service
Triage is the process of assessing individual patients and identifying their
need for clinical care. It is usually performed in the A&E setting. Telephone
triage is the gathering of information and identification of the most appropriate form of health care provision or giving of advice by telephone, without the advantage of being able to visually assess the patient.
