Project based approach to increasing uptake if influenza vaccine in an under achieving GP practice
In this project the purpose of doing a form of systematic review of the literature was to provide evidence to a low
achieving General Practitioner (GP) practice that there are proven intervention strategies, which have been shown to
increase the uptake of influenza vaccination in the target population. Additionally it was hoped to identify any barriers to
vaccination such as myths and misconceptions held by older people about influenza as a disease and the vaccine so that
these can be taken into account during the implementation stage of the project.
