Investigation into the factors that motivate healthy people to participate in clinical research with reference in particular to trials that involve the scarring of skin

Recruitment is a vital activity for all types of clinical research trials, especially those that require the participation of healthy volunteers. Working in a Phase I Clinical Trials Unit, the author is well aware of the pressures involved in continually attracting the public into participating in research so that her timelines in the drug development process can be kept. To develop the practice of recruitment within her place of work, the author chose to explore the theme of motivation for volunteers.
