The Dorothy Heathcote Archive

In order to search the archive you must enter data into one of the 7 fields on the search form (which you can view by clicking on SEARCH.)

There is a note here on how the search is performed

File No. This relates to the whereabouts of the file in the physical archive here in Manchester. It is unlikely that researchers will already know the file number of records for which they are searching. In order to find records within the physical archive the File No. is essential.

Origin: Where (or from whom) the record originated.

Date: When the record was created.

Form: Whether the record is a thesis, article, videotape, etc.

Title: The title of the record.

Originator: The author of the record.

Keyword: This index can be searched by entering key words or phrases. If you are searching for information on particular concepts or themes, enter these in this field, and all records relating to those keywords will be found.

The results of the search will be returned as a "hit list". From the hit list you can, by clicking on the File No. of any record, view the full details of that record.

In this way researchers can search the entire Heathcote archive without travelling to Manchester! Unfortunately to gain access to the records themselves, a visit to the physical archive is necessary.
